Nautilus Stereo Cutting Head
Compact. Powerful. Modern Stereo for Vintage Lathes.
The Nautilus is the world’s first full-range stereo cutting head designed specifically for compact vintage lathes like the Presto 6N, 6D, 8N, 8DG, and compatible DIY systems. It brings clean, super-loud stereo cutting capability to machines that were once limited to mono or lo-fi stereo performance—transforming your setup into a modern stereo cutting powerhouse.
Key Features:
-
Compact High-Performance Design
Built with the same core components as our larger stereo heads, the Nautilus has been carefully engineered to fit into smaller lathes without sacrificing audio quality or output power. -
Vintage Compatibility
Designed to mount directly onto classic Presto head carriages using standard M4 threads. Slightly lighter than traditional heads, you may need to swap your carriage spring for a softer one—an easy upgrade. -
RIAA-Ready
Includes our custom FabFilter Pro-Q3 RIAA encoding preset (required for optimal use). A dedicated System Phonics preamp with integrated RIAA and additional features is coming soon. -
Built to Last
Features a precision-cast solid brass stylus holder for maximum durability. A professional Stylus Tool is required for safe stylus installation. -
Installation-Ready
Supplied with bare wires for custom setups. For a plug-and-play experience, pair it with our Fused Breakout Box and Stylus Heating System. When purchased together, we’ll pre-fit extended wiring and 3-pin DIN connectors to match.
